Cheesy Feet

Ingredients for the pastry:

300 gwheat flour
75 gstarch
1 packetbaking powder
1 pinch ofsalt
1egg yolk
1 tbspmilk
200 gbutter
1 knife tipeach of paprika and pepper
150 gcheese (e.g. grated Gouda or mountain cheese)

To brush on:

1egg yolk
1 tbspmilk

To sprinkle on:

poppy seeds, sesame, caraway or cheese


Knead all ingredients together. Wrap in foil and leave to chill for one hour, for best results overnight. Roll out the pastry thinly and cut out using the foot cutter (6 cm, 9 cm or 14 cm). Place the biscuits on a baking tray covered with reusable baking liner, prick twice with a fork, brush with the beaten egg yolk and sprinkle e.g. with poppy seeds.

Baking time: bake for approx. 10-15 min at 200°C upper/lower heat (180°C circulating air).
